In describing his sensually charged fetish photos, Goedde states that, "They're partly staged, partly candid." Indeed, while Goedde has shot magnificently choreographed images of such beauties as Penthouse Pet Aria Giovanni, B-movie queen Julie Strain, and super model Gina Velour, there's also a delightful air of spontaneity to his work. A freshness in which you may see gorgeous women applying their make-up in front of a mirror, having a smoke on the veranda while (supposedly) taking a break from Goedde's camera, or sleeping on the photographer's sofa during a hard day's night. While Goedde is also a master at capturing a variety of moods from his sexy subjects - ranging from pouting to laughing to screaming to daydreaming - he also frequently dispenses with facial or full-shot images, instead focusing on sumptuous body parts such as feet, legs, and butt. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Goedde, who held an interest in photography since he was "very young," moved to Chicago in 1985, and for the next 13 years - while maintaining a series of record-store jobs - shot most of his early classic fetish work. He opted for a change of scenery in 1998, moving (as he describes on his website, www.stevedietgoedde.com) from "the murky gray city of Chicago to the color-saturated landscape of Southern California." And Goedde has been shooting priceless models in the Golden State ever since. (Courtesy of Spectator Magazine) |
