Playa del Carmen is paradise for most people. I am no exception when it comes to reveling in the sand, sun and fun. I have happily dwelt here for more the nine years and I am well known in the area. I am an accomplished photographer and writer and publish a CD/ROM travel magazine that, while not profitable, is fun to produce and is a creative outlet. You might say that I am very content with my lot in life. I am divorced and have no encumbrances to drain my energy or time.

When I am not out chasing sunsets and Mayan ruins, I can be found at a little local bar called Captain Dave’s. It is simply furnished with green plastic tables and chairs. The walls are adorned with beer posters and flags of several nations. Nothing special here, cold beer, dominos and fun conversation. Many laughs and nobody takes any thing seriously.
