It had become something of a routine now, for the past several months. Her Master would invite several of his friends around at the weekend to watch one of the big matches on television.

She would be expected to prepare the room for their arrival, providing a ready supply of beers and nibbles to be consumed as they watched, while she was banished to an adjoining room for the afternoon to amuse herself with a good book or other household duties.

It normally turned out to be an extremely boring afternoon!

Perhaps she should have kept her thoughts to herself, and not complained about the situation, but, having done so, she had set herself up to be taught a lesson!
