Awakening

He returned to her after a few moments, and took her by the hand and they walked toward the structure. He opened the door, and walked her inside. They were walking on a wood walkway she could feel with her feet, and she could hear water lapping below. She did not want to disobey him, but the shock of the auto exhibition had shaken her trust ever slightly of him, and something compelled her to take a quick look. She subtly lifted her eyelids, still keeping the lashes intact, just so she could get a glimpse of the situation. They were inside a large boathouse, and to the right of her was an enormous luxury boat. It was wide with three enormous engines at the rear. He turned toward her and she quickly fastened her eyes again. She did not fear an anger response from him; she just didn’t want to displease him that she had disobeyed him.

She thought she had seen something odd attached to the front of the boat, but she didn’t get a chance to look at it close...
