| Forum Regular Canada 560 Posts | I've been whipped like this a few times (only on my back) and I love it! The reason has nothing to do with artifice or appearance. It has to do with the steady application of strokes, without pause. And yes, it does get me zoned out faster than regular flogging. | |

I don't do it for asthetics, but rather for me it helps me get into my rhythm . I can feel the music, and atmosphere better it seems when I am using two floggers. I will also at times do a florentine with 2 bull whips . hmm 2 bull whips? What is the length of them? I have a few matched sets that Vic Tella made for me. When I play at the local clubs with bullwhips I try to only use 4 footers. There are some local people who will do it with 5 and 6 footers and it's incrdible to watch. There's a guy out of tampa who flourentines flaming whips/poi...I'll try to find his site and post it.

Forum Maniac United States 5,540 Posts | elk: I assume since you took the time and trouble to learn it, you feel it is worth learning. Are there specific situations when the Florentine method would be preferrable to using a single flogger? I didn't find it all that much time and trouble. I know 3 different patterns, one I figured out on my own, one I learned in a class, and one I figured out from watching a BDSM vid. Didn't take more than an hour or 2 of practice before I was ready to move to a human target. Actually, by the time I got to the third pattern I only practiced about 30 seconds, to make sure I could do it without tangling the floggers. I did use relatively light, short floggers at first. I don't know that there is any particular situation that calls for it. It's just one more of the range of sensations you can get out of floggers. Although I did discover a few advantages. Once I had 2-handed flogging down pretty well, I could switch hands in mid-stroke when using a single flogger. Comes in handy when you are using a heavy flogger and your arm needs a rest. Or I can do this behind-the-back hand switch to go from flogging the back with my left hand to flogging upward on the ass and thighs with my right hand without interrupting the flow.

Forum Slut United States 1,662 Posts | I originally learned how to florentine by learning Poi, but the movements are incredibly similar. As a top, I like using the florentine for a couple of reasons. A: it's damn impressive in a club or public scene, B: the constant *whoosh* gives a nice fear reaction, and you can pull back and just let it woosh for a while, letting your bottom wonder when you're going to start up again, and C: it's a great warm-up or break in pattern. It's something different, and it helps to have lots of tricks up your sleeve. As a bottom I like the feeling it gives. I like the rythm and the feel of constant impact. I would never want that to be the only thing used on me, but I woudln't want single hand to be the only thing used on me either. Variety, my friends, is the spice of life. Plus, if you get good enough where you can really mess with the rythms, placement and intensity, you can do some REALLY awesome stuff. E-mail me ~ Learraln@aol.com
