Forum Regular Canada 717 Posts | Subs seem to enjoy calling me Mistress. But for me, it's less about what they call me and more about their behaviour(s). Best,

Personally I prefer Lady unless being addressed by someone who wears my own personal collar. Mistress I feel is a title that should be considered sacred to those that are actually your owned. lol hey maybe you can call me Mistress little miss frisky Yes Mistress

Forum Maniac United States 3,520 Posts | Mouse's boy will refer to me as "My Queen." He'll get caned very hard if he doesn't. He also says "Yes, Ma'am." [A] mother is one to whom you hurry when you are troubled. ~ Emily Dickinson

Forum Initiate United Kingdom 20 Posts | My boy calls me "Madame Catherine" or else. (It looks rather long when I type it down, but he's never had trouble saying it quickly!) When we started exploring D/s stuff, he called me Mistress, but for some reason I didn't like it, although I am not sure why.

Forum Initiate United States 8 Posts | I am not required to follow a specific form of address; however, I am expected to use one every time just as a sign of respect. I generally switch between Ma'am, Mistress, and Madame. I have always loved using the title "Mistress," however I usually reserve that for one-on-one personal interaction with Her. And Mistress often has the negative stigma of being associated with an adulteress... (as the old joke goes... "a Mistress is what goes between a mister and his mattress" ;P). It really depends on the situation I am in... in public, saying "Ma'am" is quite discreet, et cetera.

Forum Newbie United States 61 Posts | My girlfriend is "Miss Katsumi" or "Ma'am" when we're playing. When we're just being a couple she's "Katsu"

Unfortunate Wench Moderator Australia 11,217 Posts | I prefer "Nikki". Because that is who I am. If I happen to be playing with someone for whom honorifics helps them get into headspace, then Miss or Mistress is fine. Ma'am is right out- it would make me feel like a geriatric. No offense for those that like "ma'am"- or those that like geriatrics, for that matter, it just is not me. -- Life is a bitch...ride me like one Au milieu de l'hiver, j'ai découvert en moi un invincible été.

| Forum Apprentice United Kingdom 109 Posts | i haven’t looked in here for ages, but i well recall the choosing of the ‘Yes Ma’am’ forum title. The need was for an exclusively Femdom forum and people were making all sorts of suggestions as to what to call it. Then one of the Dommes proposed ‘Yes Ma’am’ and everything seemed to fall into place. Personally, i think that was because that phrase seemed to say “Respect” loudly and clearly, i.e. men entering the Forum should show it and Females should expect it, things which didn’t always happen in the other b’com fora. To me ‘Yes Ma’am’ still seems to say “Respect” loudly and clearly and it’s a great title for a forum. As to how individual Dommes should be addressed, is there a way? Every Domme associates different things with different titles, often at different times. She should be addressed, i guess, in the way She feels is respectful and right at any given time, and we males should address Her as She wishes – at all times. | |

| Forum Initiate United States 5 Posts | As an inexperienced sub, I would think "Yes, ma'am!" is short, succinct, and to the point!!! This will also allow the 'flow' of the moment to keep going, rather than to stop for a discussion! If the Dom has any preferences, then discuss them at the start!! With all due respect, of course!!! | |

Forum Apprentice United Kingdom 194 Posts | It changes with different circumstances and people. With My main sub, He always calls Me Lady. Tht makes some people akward, and I feel akward being called some titles by some people. I prefer My Lady, or Mistress. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The ideal form of government is democracy tempered with assassination. Volatire
