5,328 Posts		Ok, i see people do this all the time but i just don't know how. When you want someone to see a profile or thread, instead of giving the whole address, they condense it into one or two words like, "go here" and you click on it and get that page. How do you do that???

38,164 Posts		In the reply screen, there are icons above the text box. Click the one with the world/chainlink on it. Change the somewhere.com part to the address of your link and put the title inbetween the two ][ brackets.

Sure is. And Glampers did a good job. In your comment, I would have used the word brevity or concission rather than conciseness. May I deduce from this you work or have worked for the US Department of Defense or the UK equivalent?

Red Smith was a gloriously good writer, for the NY Times among others, and oddly spent most of his time as a sportw writer. His thought on good writing was, "Writing's easy. You just sit down at the typewriter and open a vein." I think he's pretty much got it.
