Forum Initiate United States 11 Posts | In reference to a previous post titled "For Switches Only", I postulated that true switches do not exist. I am convinced that you are either Dom or sub. I posed the question this way..."If you had 10 seconds to decide whether to go to Dom or sub heaven, what would you choose?"...., FYI...this means that you would be one or the other for all eternity and no, you can't be a Dom in sub heaven nor a sub in Dom heaven, lol. I received a variety of responses and it became clear that I directed this post to the wrong audience. My position on this subject is not directed at the majority, those who are into bedroom d/s or the more casual players and thrill seekers. My post was directed to the 1%, those who look upon their dominance or submission as a spiritual calling, the core of who they are. | |

IOW, my post is directed at the only the other folks who are as narrow-minded and rigidly scripted as myself. The core of who I am will be satisfied with nothing less than variety. If I had ten seconds to decide to be Dom or sub for eternity, my response would be "neither." I realize grasping this concept requires empathy, and the ability to be flexible. And yes, in my personal experience those traits do not tend to go along with being a domme. It's O.K. You don't have to be able to understand. On occasion I may do or say something out of the ordinary that to anyone else with be Dominant. Two seconds later I look around and say- uhhh shit what do I do next???? Every person has a Dominant and submissive side, even if Dominance is only shown in public, at work, or at school. Sometimes both sides are shown in the sexual way. It reminds me of an argument that happens in the gay community over bisexuals. Basically what happens is that the lesbians think that they just don't want to admit they only like girls and the straight females think that they just haven't met the right guy yet. There is nothing wrong with bedroom d/s. I can be submissive in other ways, in daily life, but overall I flourish in a bedroom d/s. Its still spiritual to me but I don't think that I know all the right answers and that the "1%" who can do it all the time are better than me. | |

Therefore it's not a black and white question. You are asking someone to fit themselves to your mold. It's all very dominant, but not very realistic. If I was *forced* (which is what you are doing) to pick from those choices, I would be *submitting* to being a *dominant*. Why? Cause I would never trust such a fickle 'creation' to respect the real value of my *submission* so I would *submit* to the situation that gave me the most *control* to deal with that injustice.
