So I found this website the other day that had a conversation on it some BDSM lifestylers were having regarding cheap and effective ways to create play toys and other objects for BDSM.

After going out and picking up some these things, and making some of the toys myself...I felt the need to spread the word concerning how practical these ideas are and how satisfied I was.

-Go to your local farm/horse supply store. Unlike the pricy sex/pain crops online, you can get a sturdy riding crop for 10$ or less at a horse supply store. And also some nice single tails.

-The horse store also sells cheap panic snaps, hook/chain pieces, and something called "Vet wrap" that is basically a rubber gauze bandage wrap that works great for mummification, bondage, and headwrapping! (Plus it comes in assorted colors and sticks to itself

-At my local hardware store (Home Depot), I picked up several great priced snap hooks, several feet of chain, O-rings, and tool dip (a thick liquid that dries into rubber). I used the tool dip to create my own evil cane. But that process is a whole other forum topic in itself.

-For blindfolds, just go to your local drug store and buy a sleep mask. Cheap and easy! And a wide brush for spanking. Things that work well for paddles can also be found at Target or Walmart; very wide wooden kitchen spoons. Might sound silly at first, but some of you know what I mean >:) ...they can be evil.

-A couple last things to mention that I tried from this site...paint stirring sticks, my god...after trying them on myself before my slave, they are no joke. Annoyingly and obnoxiously stingy. If a paint stir stick sounds too weak for you, then upgrade to the long wooden rulers hardware stores sell. And if you don't wana blow money on a cane. fishing pole sticks...be sure to sand and laquer before use so they don't split or crack on your sub.

-And a good old heavy duty leather belt from any thrift store.

Hope this helps some of the tops on a budget! This recession can't be fun for us all and toy collections should never stop growing. After me blowing 300$ over a period of 3 months on sex toys from online sites, I knew it was time to do some research.

I so enjoy a "pig slapper" from the same farm and home stores you get the crops from. _wink

I have also heard that the clear plastic poles that are used to turn the slats of venetian blinds make an excellent cane substitute, and are also available at Home Depot.

Hardware stores, kitchen shops, pet stores and any of those bargain junk type stores (they call them $2 shops here) hold a wealth of ideas and implements if you just let your creative and sadistic mind wander.....

They do. And you had to go and mention that, didn't you?

Nice list although I find the sleepmasks don't work so well. They slide off if you get wild at all. Something with 2 adjustable straps is the way to go. Or vetwrap!

Staples!

Use staples to keep the mask on!

Additionally...

Home Depot:

A length of wooden closet rod makes a great spreader bar.

Assorted chains and ropes.

Hardwood dowel rods for canes.

Carpet samples can be used for padding on saw horses and such and for kneeling pads.

Feed store:

Harness leather. Various widths and thicknesses for strapping.

Harness hardware and tools. With a little imagination, you can make all manner of leather restraints.

Kennels and cages.

Collars and leashes.

Wal Mart:

Candles.

clothes pins.

Practice golf balls. ( Used with some rope or leather to make ball gags.)

I had a couple of elderly aunts, who would always poke me in the ribs at weddings saying, "You're next"

I finally stopped this by doing the same to them, at funerals.

I also found a nice finger vibrator at Walmart for $11 a couple weeks ago in HBA department, they also have some other vibrator too, starting at $9. I also keep an eye open at Goodwill and Salvation Army store for some evil items, never know what you may find, I got an evil cane the other day,$1.

Not bad, but my first day I blew over $250 on only a few items. LOL the rope alone cost me $180.
Yes that's right I bought over 500 ft of rope
I'd hate to see what my internet bill would be.

I tried to convince someone of that, but the evil fucker still insists that uncooked rice is for kneeling and lines the saw horse with carpet tacks. Sadists... sigh.

Fleece lined hobbles at tack/farm stores.
And a great source for equine items including boots is www.statelinetack.com
Pricier apparel including chaps at www.rods.com

But a package of assorted wooden spoons can be found in any grocery store for very little money and much pain to the bottom, or to the inner thighs.
